This is where Jason and Steph vacationed.
If we went in the fall, we could get an unbeleivable house for not too much money. (rentals/beach homes)
Can we go in the fall? Scott's in school. And Kari.

Vacacion Familia
Leah and I were talking this weekend about planning a family vacation. We thought we could go next summer or fall so we'd all have plenty of time to save $$. If the McMilton's are interested, I'll cal Jason and Steph since they're not on-line. The destination depends on what everyone wants to do. We could rent a giant house on the ocean, go on a cruise, stay at an all-inclusive resort or go to a house in the woods somewhere. Anyway, I thought it would be lots of fun to vacation together. Soo let me know if 1. your interested and 2. your first choice for the destination. I can also research costs and find out what would be the least expensive. Let me know your thoughts!
(I have lots of great pics of Cal that I'll be posting tomarrow. I bet you can't wait!)

Bally's For The Mind
"The definition of a decandent society might be one in which private vices become public, not merely in the sense of becoming known, but in the sense that the leaders of the society govern in accord with their vices. Sins of the flesh, traditionally thought of as sins of weakness and sources of shame, become sins of pride."

Bally's For The Mind
A quote from Dr. John Piper -
“People are starving for the greatness of God. But most of them would not give this diagnosis of their troubled lives. The majesty of God is an unknown cure. There are far more popular prescriptions on the market, but the benefit of any other remedy is brief and shallow. Preaching that does not have the aroma of God's greatness may entertain for a season, but it will not touch the hidden cry of the soul: "Show me Your glory!" The greatness and the glory of God are relevant. It does not matter if surveys turn up a list of perceived needs that does not include the supreme greatness of the sovereign God of grace. That is the deepest need. People are starving for God. People need to hear God-entranced preaching. They need someone, at least once a week, to lift up his voice and magnify the supremacy of God. They need to behold the whole panorama of His excellencies! It is not the job of the Christian preacher to give people moral or psychological pep talks about how to get along in the world; someone else can do that. What people need is for someone to tell them, week in and week out, about the supreme beauty and majesty of God.” (The Supremacy of God in Preaching)

The Weekend Report
We had a pretty good weekend. We got to see some movies(Maria Full of Grace, Waiting. . ., The Motorcycle Diaries, In Her Shoes, and Eulogy), played some games(lots of Phase 10, Milles Bornes, Poker, Swipe, Holy Cow, and Kabodl), and watched the Cubs beat the Cards on Sunday night(well I did, Kari read Bridget Jones Diary). Looking forward to seeing everyone over Easter(Scott I heard that on Saturday night it is customary for Andrew to not be in the Passion Play so you should join us). How was everyone else's weekend?

On a bad streak
We have been watching so many bad movies lately. The Weather Man (I guess I shouldn't call it bad- but it definitely wasn't good. How depressing), Rent (I already sounded off on that) and last night we watched The Squid and The Whale. Augh. Horrible. We stuck through it because of all the hype, but there was so so much cursing and sexual stuff... it was sick, really. Mom, don't see it. You will be horrified. Becky, you, too. Tom, I'm sure you will find something good with it, but even you will be disgusted, I think (and hope). Richard, you have no conscience, so I'm sure you will be fine with it.
Ha.
I have a new post at Cal's blog with some pics.

Bally's For The Mind
"A mouse was caught by its tail in a trap the other day, and the poor creature went on eating the cheese. Many men are doing the same. They know that they are guilty, and they dread their punishment, but they go on nibbling at their beloved sins."

Zion Passion Play
60+ years old and still going strong! Our own Scott is playing Andrew this year and doing a bang up job of it. We just got back from seeing it tonight. Congratulations on a role well played son! (The ice cream was delicious too.)
Everybody go see it if you get a chance!
